Château Rouge presents Till Ayasse, Javier Areal Vélez, Tayla Myree & Lukas König

Château Rouge, the independent art and cultural space in Vienna’s 12th district, launches a new series of curated events unfolding across two weekends. Bringing together concerts, DJ sets, visual arts, and performances, the programme opens a space for contemporary artistic practices, exchange, and encounter. Each edition invites a guest from the district to present their work alongside local and international artists. For this first edition, Château Rouge brings together artists working across experimental music, sound, and visual practices.

Composer, improviser, and curator Javier Areal Vélez (Buenos Aires) works at the intersection of experimental electronics, improvised music, and human–machine interaction. His performances combine samples, synthesizers, light, and prepared electric guitar into dense, rhythmic soundscapes.

The opening night features a DJ set by Tayla Myree, a Vienna-based multidisciplinary artist, historian, and cultural worker. Engaging with memory, representation, and Blackness through sound, film, and archival research, their sets move between alternative R&B, house, and hip hop, unfolding as collective spaces of expression and embodiment.

With Lukas König, Château Rouge welcomes a key figure of Vienna’s experimental music scene. Working across noise, hip hop, free jazz, and electronics, the percussionist and producer has collaborated widely with international artists and ensembles.

Invited from Meidling, Till Ayasse presents a selection of paintings developed in his nearby atelier, extending the programme into a direct dialogue with the local context. His works will be on view throughout the project period during announced events and by appointment.

Founded in 2017 by Elisabeth Bakambamba Tambwe, Château Rouge takes its name from the Paris metro station in the multicultural 18th arrondissement — a site shaped by movement and cultural intersections. In Meidling, it positions itself as a space where artistic practices and perspectives meet in dialogue.

Till Ayasse

A passion for art and creative work has shaped my everyday life since early childhood. With more than 15 years of experience working across different techniques, I have developed a deep connection to art that is reflected in every piece I create. Through my work, I seek to build a bridge between recognisable nature and abstract perspectives, inviting viewers into a world that encourages reflection and opens up new ways of seeing.
