★ Dr. Obaro Ejimiwe aka Ghostpoet is a double Mercury Prize-nominated British artist and musician with a Nigerian and Dominican background, renowned for his blend of alternative hip-hop, electronica, and indie rock. He debuted in 2011 with the Mercury Prize-nominated „Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam“ and has since released five albums, including „Shedding Skin“ and „I Grow Tired But Dare Not Fall Asleep.“ His introspective lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes define his work. In 2020, he expanded into visual arts, exploring installation, photography, performance and sound art. His latest EP, „Am I The Change I Wish To See?“ released in May 2024, continues his innovative musical experimentation.
★ Susanne Brokesch (NY) is a Vienna born composer and DJ who is known for the complexly referential and meaningful fusion of ambient and techno styles with classical, folk and pop fragments – an atmospheric richness that has secured her a unique place in the international music scene.
Under the pseudonym Sil Electronics, she produced radically minimalistic tracks, which she published as EPs on Cheap Record (White Clouds, 1995) and legendary Finnish label Sähkö (Tal-S, 1996). Her debut album Sharing the Sunhat (1997) was highlighted by the music magazines Spex and The Wire. Further releases on tecno label Disko B (DJ Hell, Chicks on Speed) include So Easy, Hard to Practice (2003) and Emerald Stars (2006), on which she electronically reinterpreted works by the Austrian composer Hugo Wolf. Susanne Brokesch’s new album Shallow Blues, released in October 2024, is a challenging condensation of her introspective attitude towards musical references and social contexts.
